Very few people can live in isolation. We generally do better when we have people around to talk to, share stories with, and support us. I feel this is especially true when it comes to faith and religion. Here, I will attempt to share my thoughts and reflect on my spiritual journey -- I know this will further strengthen my faith, and I hope this will positively influence yours as well. - CradleCatholic2.0
Encountering God
by CradleCatholic2.0
I know God is with me, but sometimes it is hard to truly feel His presence. Every night, I try to reflect back on the day to see where I saw or experienced God. Most of the time it is subtle, like helping me finish a tough assignment on time. Sometimes it is more obvious, like when I stopped the car just in time to avoid an accident. These encounters are precious to me because they are signs that He is with me – I am not alone.
The other day, I found myself in a very stressful situation, mostly because I make every effort to be on time. My family and I had tickets to a concert. Each of us had other commitments during the day, so our plan was to meet up an hour before and go together. My sister was running late, we didn’t even meet up until the concert was set to begin. Instead of driving to the venue, we decided to take Bart at the last minute. I second-guessed our decision because there may not be parking at the Bart station and the trains might take a long time to arrive. But everything worked out so well! We found parking without difficulty, right in front of the Bart entrance. We only waited one minute for Bart train. To top it off, the concert was delayed and we arrived just in time! Everyone enjoyed the evening and we couldn’t have imagined a better outcome.
When things work out so perfectly, I know that it must be the work of God, and just the thought of that leaves a smile on my face. Where have you seen Him lately?
